Clutch Problems w/ 92 rodeo

Ok, im 17 and i have a 92 izuze rodeo that's only 2 wheel drive not 4x4. Something is wrong with the clutch and i have no clue.

When you're driving the gear shift wont shify into gears unless you beat the hell out of it and jam it into place. Well this happens when the car is on. When it's off it shifts into gear easy until you turn it on.

One person said that i need to replace the whole clutch.

Another told me that the Slave Cylinder needs to be replaced.

Well what do you guys think about this and how much would each cost.
