Question Pulleys? yes or no

It seems like every other forum is for or against pulleys as a good mod. I was lookin at unorthodox but i don't want to waste my money on something pointless. For those for pulleys how much more power is expected. For those against pulleys please elaborate.

Re: Pulleys? yes or no

i heard that it wears out the barrings because the light weight pulleys are moving faster, could possibly cause future problems, however, i dont know anyone that has ever had a problem

NEVER buy anything that removes your harmonic balancer. just be careful not to run too much juice for a big stereo and stuff like that. i've also heard that your AC won't be as cold at idle and silly stuff like that

Re: Pulleys? yes or no

Pulleys are decent mods and do give a few hp, but there are a few cons. DIY or pay for the install? It's pretty cramped in the engine compartment. Power steering is unaffected, but the underdrive of the alternator is noticed, especially at night. My lights dim with all 3 pulleys replaced. With the AC on, it's not as cold at idle, otherwise it's normal. Seems like there is less drag on the AC, too.

NOW on to the crank pulley. Whether it is the Unorthodox Racing or the Arospeed one that I have: it's not worth it! Did not feel any gain whatsoever, and the cost to install it added to the mess.
