1998 Subaru Forrester Tail Light/Parking Light

My tail lights/parking lights stay on after the car is cut off. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Just after the engine is shut off or after the ignition is turned off too?

There is a switch on the top of the steering column that is for the parking lights. If this switch is turned on, then the lights will stay on after the car is shut off.
