1997 es 300 remote entry problem/question

Hi,

Does anybody know if I have to re-program my remote entry keyless system when I change the battery in my remote transmitter?

It sure seems like that wouldn't be the case.

My transmitter was getting seemingly weaker and weaker and it was not working as well as it used to so I replaced the battery in the remote and now it doesn't work at all......

I hate to re-program the car if that is not necessary, but I also hate to pay the dealer to tell me that it needs to be reprogrammed.

I had the same car and replaced the battery of the remote twice but didn't have that problem. There is something wrong with your remote not due to replacing the battery. You can try to use the key to open the driver door. I heard this will reset the anti theft system.
