ITs called a govener, Most Gms have them, my 90 Z24 Shuts off at 112

ohh on making your car faster,i would try to find someone who can reprogam your computer. i belive you have a OBD-2 (i think thats what its called) it should reset your govenor, i take your car is an automatic

No, actually, it is a standard. It is a 1999 cavi z24 with a 2.4L with Dual Overhead Cams. I just can't get the thing to go faster than 109.

Normaly the %spd cars dont have govenors, well try to find some speed shop that can reprogame your computer, it should help

why do you need to go faster then 109mph?????? The reason you can go faster the 109 is b/c you cars computer is set up so you can do this and end up killing someone in the prossess. your tires im guessing are probably stock, if they are there probably not rated at speeds over 109mph.

there is one way to get your cavalier to go faster than 109mph, get a buddy with a corvette and a tow rope!!

only real ways i see you takin that govenor off is to flash the ecm or dissconnect the vss, yet now you won't know how fast your travelling unless you buy a gauge at walmart or something and hook it up instead of the speed gauge in the intrument pack
