Loose Idler Wheel..Thats what makes the noise..HELP
Ok, i found out the problem, myself actually. After looking over the whold 4.6, i checked to see if my wheels where loose, pulley's, underdrive and stuff. And yeah, my Idler wheel is a tad loose, its got alittle play in it-even though it is properly tightened and in good shape. Spoke to my mechanic, and he said thats the reason for the noise when the car is pushed hard. Cause when i actually hold the wheel between my thumb and fingers, and wobble it back and forth, there is the slightest amount of play-and you hear a faint tick noise. So this belt moving at a high rate/when floored, it kinda shakes this wheel, and that faint tick noise gets magnified. Everyone i spoke to said its nothing major, just keep and eye and ear on it, and if it starts ticking really bad-at normal driving, to get it replaced.
ps.. this only ticks when i'm shitting on a honda or nissan, no biggy. |
