94 Cavalier (RS?)
i just bought this cavalier, 2 dr, 5spd, pl, very nice car, $600, 188000KM, not gonna complain, i've had an 88 2dr auto before, and engines on these cars are amazing
i just dont know much about specs on cars, stuff like that mine is a 2.2L 4 cyl, is mine an RS? any way to find out? because my insurance says its an RS, and they havent even seen the car so im not even sure myself if its an RS, i hear that RS boosts up insurance prices a bit, so how would i kno if mine is an RS? please email me as i might not have internet access for the next week or so, but emails come to my cell fone insanityride at hotmail.com thx |

I also have a 94 RS. Horsepower is somewhere between 120-140. I have a couple of books that give different values. Nice car, 177,000 miles on mine. Just be aware of the TCC going bad. When it does (if it hasn't already), you can just unplug it. The car will stall when slowing down or when you stop. Restart in park. It may kinda shimmy when driving at steady speed. Other than that weird problem it is a great car.

Re: 94 Cavalier (RS?)
The RS is chacterized by larger sway bars, similar to the Z24, and other trim options not available in the base model cavaliers.
You should have to worry about the TCC as you have a 5 spd. The TCC is a automatic only thing... |

Yea, sorry about that the TCC is the Torque Converter Clutch solenoid. It is an automatic thing, and it sucks.

Re: 94 Cavalier (RS?)
Ok, a 94' should have it written on the side of the car...such as mine is an 88
and on the side it says CavalierRS yours should be identical.

Re: 94 Cavalier (RS?)
Ok, I didn't know that...another place you might want to check is the inside of the door, where it shows all the information on weight limits, year of production and etc. it should say it there also, it does on mine anyways.

Mine has no emblems. I'll have to check the door sticker. I only found out when I looked at my title. Then I noticed that it was also listed on my insurance as an RS. If I bought it new I would have wanted a stupid emblem.
