Filed compliant w/NHTSA

I don't know if this will do any good, but after reading how many people had issues/failures w/ their fuel sending units (including myself), I filed a complaint w/ NHTSA. I know in an earlier post someone mentioned a recall but I have still heard nothing about it. Why should we have to pay a rediculous amount of money for something the manufacturer knows about and refuses to fix? Maybe if enough people file a complaint about it...someone...somewhere will get a fire under their a** and do something about it! Thanks for letting rant!

I did actually about a year ago when it first messed up and they, in no uncertain terms told me to go f*** myself. So since then I have not tried.

I have a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo and I'm having the same problem with my gas gauge not working other than that, The vehicle is really good.
I filed a complaint with the NHTSA, I also sent e-amils to my senators and representatives in washington, I know that sounds like a lot of trouble, but it only takes a little while ( copy and paste ). They contacted the NHSTA also on my behalf inquiring about the problem. I got responses from both senators and copies of the replys they recieved from the NHSTA. In the replys they mentioned the complaint I filed with them. Also they said that they had recieved quite a few reports of this problem. So don't loose hope guys, keep filing complaints, eventually they will have to recall the vehicle for this problem. So far, I have refused to fix the problem because I don't think that I should. It's a manufaturers defect. I have a 92 pontiac grand am...gas gauge works...a 1990 F-150...gas gauge works. why shouldn't my 99 Rodeo gas gauge work.
So the problem is the sending unit? atleast that is what I get from reading the posts.
I also have a lot to say about the Isuzu Service....But, I'd get kicked off if I used the language I really wanted to. Let's just say, Isuzu mechanics (atleast the one's I've dealt with) come in a close tie with ambulance chacing lawyers on my list of favorite people.
I've also noticed, the little slips when I'm stopping sometimes, usually on a bumpy road, I've attributed this to an over sensative ABS system, It was doing it before I got the recall for this problem, and it's doing it after.
I've also noticed some hard shifting lately, but mostly after I've let the Rodeo sit all week ( I drive the pontiac to work during the week)
Is this something I should be concerned with?

As far as the hard shifting goes just make sure you are up to date with your transmission fluid changes and make sure its not leaking any.
