92 Towncar- After driving for about 1 hour, the Air Susp. warning light comes on.
-If you stop and shut the car off, and then switch it on again, the light goes away for about another half hour. -If you dont stop, the 30amp fuse blows. Any idea what the problem might be and/or how to fix it? Thanks |

Re: air suspension light

Do you know how old the air compressor is, or how about the air springs? If you can get your hand on a star scanner tool it would give you a trouble code when the AIR SUSP light goes off.

the compressor and springs are probably as old as the car is.
I was wondering if i could somehow isolate the problem to either the compressor or springs? Thanks |

Re: air suspension light
Shut off the compressor, switch in the trunk, to see how long the springs hold their height.
If they start losing air quickly (rear end drooping) then you have a leak somewhere in the system and the compressor is most likely working overtime trying to keep up with the leak. This can cause the fuse to blow as the compressor overheats. If your system stay pumped up with the compressor off, there's something wrong with the compressor or the wires that power it.
