96 Ford contour w/Transmission Problem
I have a 96 Ford Contour, i dont seem to have alot of the other problems people are talking about except that my transmission. When the car gets warm (driving long distances, or in traffic) the transmission spews out all the transmission fluid. If you pull over and let the car cool down and put in more fluid then its ok, but im wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or has any ideas. I was told by one mechanic that it was a front seal on the transmission and another mechanic told me it was a vacuum problem. But either way if they have to pull it apart its 900$ just to pull the transmission out of the car. Any information would very much be appreciated. Thank you Becky

My only advice is go to fordcontour.org and send Terry Haines an email or a PM. He was one of the head drivetrain engineers for the contour/mystique. Hes a retired Ford employee and now runs his own motorsports fully dedicated to the contour. If anyone knows transmissions, its him since be built the damn thing.
