How to get more power from stock 305 tpi?

I want more power, but have limited funds. What about those computer chips and new air things that go in the snorkel at the front of the TPI?
Any help appreciated.

You could do things like the chip, get an TPI airfoil for like 40 bucks off ebay. Also do the throttle body coolant bypass, that will help keep the air temperature down. You could also get K&N filters and try modifying the dual snorkel setup by removing the lid underneath where the filters sit.

How much do you have to spend and how much power do you want to gain.. You could go from real simple cheap things like dober suggested.. If you want more than that, get a set of headers, high flow cats and a good performance muffler.. Give you a nice sound and add a few hp..

Re: How to get more power from stock 305 tpi?

you can do quite a bit to the tpi engines. alot of people dont understand that if you do a few good bolt-ons you basically have an l98, do a few more and you can easily push it close to an lt1 as far as 1/4 mile acceleration goes. throttle body bypass, filters or a cold air system, headers, AFPR, computer chip, exhaust system, then work on the drivetrain with maybe an aluminum driveshaft and youll have a pretty quick car. if you just do some simple mods like the filters, exhaust, headers etc. and you have the engine tuned well you can run around mid 14's. i know from expirience, dude.
