Yzf R6 / Gsx-r750

After several months of looking into buying and R6, the Yamaha dealership p[issed me off, so now I am looking at a GSX-R750. I was wondering if it was a good switch. Can anyone help me out on comparisons, and tips, and such?

Why did you go from looking at a 600 to a 750?

That is the last 750 that is made currently, Suzuki is the only ones that have not given up up the 750 selling. I think that is a great choice. When you compare the weight (2003) the GSXR750 dry weight is 365 where the R6 is 357. You will get a lot more power out of the 750 and more torque, it is the best of both worlds from a liter to a 600.

That is what I am going to get next, I just sold my 99 R6.

Only issue is there is a large insurance difference between the 600 and the 750's.

Gix 750 is a nice bike for sure. Power to weight cant be beat. If your looking for the extra power then go for it because handling would be the same as gix 600 but with plenty more ponies to go around. But yeah your insurance will go up.

Thanks

First off, I switched from a 600 to a 750 because 1) the gsxr600 is way slower than the r6, and that would be stupid 2) 750 will beat anything off the line. Also, I do not care aobut insurance, I am paying in full so I do not have to get it. Florida law says anything fully paid for under 1500cc's does not require insurance. Thanks for the tips guys.

why don't you take a test ride and see what you feel most comfortable with. i'm biased to the gixer's (awesome stunt bike) but the r6 is no slouch. and the gixer won't beat everything off the line. an r6 in the right hands can beat a litre bike
