I have a 98' Blazer and the A/C not working. Evacuated a/c system because wouldn't hold a charge (think it's the low pressure switch as the dye indicated that is where my leak might be and the Compressor clutch was getting stuck). Does anyone know what componenents I should replace when replacing the Air Compressor?

Re: Should I replace a/c accumulator w/ air compressor?
it is recommented to replace acumilater, but if system was not open to atmospher you can get awat without it. if the clutch is sticking, if the compressor is binding up you should replace the accumilater incase there are metal particles in system, and oriface tube, also flush out the rest of the system. be sure to add the right amount of oil when recharging system. (if system is r12 you might want to retrofit fot 134 to save some money on recharge)

Yep, clutch is sticking. Newer model Blazer so 134-a is what I'm using. Thank you for the advice. Ps. Is it hard to change the compressor yourself? Just wondering if I should do it then take to have recharged.

not very hard, but you will have to have the sytem vacummed down before recharge, so let them know you replaced compressor.
