If you had/have a Skyline...

I formatted this so that both the owners and the dreamers can participate.

1. What generation?
2. What model?
3. What mods?
4. What would/do you use it for?

1. For me, an R32.
2. GT-R N1.
3. It's a biggun. A built VQ swap. The N1 model was all about being lighter, so why not lighten it by another 200lbs or so with a VQ? Weight distribution and handling would be better, and I'd have more torque, too.

Next up would be some suspension mods. I'm not sure how streetable it is, but I'd like to look into the setup Mine's had on their infamous 'Super Response Special' R34 GT-R.

4. I'd say track use, but there aren't any located near me, so I'd have to go with primarily using the car on the street.

How about y'all?

Re: If you had/have a Skyline...

1. My dream Skyline is a 1990 R32 GTR... White, wingless, stock body, RB30DET engine, built to about 500hp... That would be fun

Possibility : Maybe its in the near future.

2. 2002 GTR V-SpecII Nür... Blue, and left 100% stock. No intake... No exhaust... Nothing... Just STOCK.

Possibility : Kinda doubt this will ever happen.

3. G-Attack R-Tune NISMO R1 R34 GTR V-SpecII. Ooooooo stock spec is good enough for me.

Possibility : ... *ackward silence* ...

4. Black 4 Door R33 GTS, with an VG30DETT powertrain, full NISMO body kit, gutted interior... God I know its sad, I got a thing for VG's.

Possibility : Might be a fun project when im older.

I have an Gun Metal Grey R32 GTR with small mods which gives me 250rwkw. I have also done the suspension. It is one of my dream cars. I love it.

The Ultimate one I have been in is Ben at Race Paces car which has 450rwkw and everything else done as it should be. It has slightly more lag than my car does with standard turbos but pulls incredibly hard from there. It has Huge Harrop brakes on it and great suspension but it is far more than that. All the small things he has done has made the car simply incredible. Front LSD etc. The car has circulated Calder Park (a Race track in 58sec and Sandown in 1.16 which is unheard of in a road car and over 3 seconds faster than a race prepared GTR on Slick tyres. The car is simply incredible.

Mick.

Re: If you had/have a Skyline...

I have an R34 Gts heres the mods:
1. 19" lenso rims
2. Proflex dampers with king springs, fully adjustable camber, castor, ride height, bump and rebound, three section strut brace.
3. Sard gt wing
4. ap racing 355mm rotors.
5. cusco rear lsd
6. kaminali competition headers, hks dumppipes and external wastegates, kaminali pro lightening titanium exhaust including kaminali titanium muffler
7. Holinger 6 speed gearbox.
8. flywheel and triple clutch plate.
9. a few internal mods and autronic sm2 management system.
------------------------------------------
theres most of the mods and im thinking of trading it in for a 180sx because insurance is too high and with a 180sx i can make major mods and the insurance wont be too high!
so im looking for around a 96 97 model for about 25g aus and then start making some good mods with the rest of the money from the R34.

Re: If you had/have a Skyline...

I would just want a R32 GTS-T, Black baby, with a five speed. That's settle me down for a while. Then on to the r32 GT-R...never...which directly coincides with when i will be able to afford one.

Re: If you had/have a Skyline...

I would get a black R34 GTR Nur Spec with a C-West body kit and Wheel Meister rims (just like the ones on the blackbird!) Then I would get Ohlens coilovers, and a good amount of power for a daily driver. I would go in the 500-600 HP range.

Re: If you had/have a Skyline...

I HAD the following:

1. --------

R33
1995
GTS 4 door. RB20E. 120ish HP Automatic.
The car was a pile of shit but it lit the skyline fire in my mind.

2. ---------

R32 1993 Black GTS-t 2 door 5 speed
just an intake and exhaust

crashed in a pretty bad accident. after owning it for about 4 months.

3. ---------

R32 1993 GTS-t 2 door 5 speed. same as the black one but it had a moonroof and less km.
intake and exhaust, valve cover removed for heat... that's about it.

Got hit by a dumb bitch making a U turn and insurance covered it 90%.

---- Dreams -------

Gunmetal R32 GT-R

This might be kind of strange but it actually looked GREAT. It was a 4 door R34 GT25t (not sure on the correct badging labeledge :-) But it had an RB26 swap with a 5 speed and here's the killer... It had a rear end conversion from a 4 door R32 GTS-t.

Most people with 4 door R32's look for a 2 door rear end because the 4 door rear end looks like shit. I don't know why, but the 4 door R32 rear end on that 4 door R34 looked great!!! If anyone knows what I'm talking about please post a picture or PM me. It was in a drift magazine and the car was painted green.

And of course my real dream.....
Own one of every skyline ever produced in mint condition and put them on the floor of my new showroom in my new mansion. and I'd also have an R30 drag car, an R34 for playing around in the rain on a wide track and an R32 for driving everyday (all GT-R's) Is that too much to ask.

Another thing that I've been actually considering and not so much dreaming about....

PLEASE DON'T HATE ME FOR THIS I THINK THAT WITH TASTE AND RESPECT THIS CAN BE DONE PROPERLY

You know how you see these datsuns and shit with V8's in em all the time? Well I'd like to do the opposite. Little japanese car with an american motor. I'd like to take a little american car and put a japanese motor in it. My ideal project would be a C2 series corvette with an RB26DETT. I would try to completely gut the undercarriage and mimic the suspension, all wheel drive and possible HICAS (not that i'd use it or I like it, just because it'd be a project) of a GT-R and somehow wrap the C2 around that. I know you can't just kit a skyline like that because it's not a frame and body panels... but a corvette is so... I wonder if the mechanics would just drop right out of the skyline...? surely they must... look at that project 350Z with the RB26DETT and complete powertrain to match. :-)

But it will be a long time, a lot of dollars and much more help before that ever gets done.
