clunking noise

I have a 95 cherokee.....love it but......when excelerating or decelerating and sometimes when turning and excelerating I hear a clunking noise underneath.... seemes to be sometimes under me or the passenger and sometimes near the back.this started a couple of months back doesnt seem to be getting any worse...any suggestions???? PLEASE?????

same thing on my 1990, some guys here told me it sounds like a front u-joint.

thanks for the reply... i took it into a tranny shop today... gave it a once over.... my trannymounts were loose..... tightened em up and I am free of the noise!!! only 100 bucks rather than what i feared !!!! hope the same for u thebigr!!!
