I am in need of some help
I am hope someone can help i just got a 90 eagle tallon. i have 3 problems #1 when i shift from 1st gear 2 2nd at slightly high revs it grids but if you are taking it easy not really a problem. #2 how high can you rev a 2.0 turbo motor mine gets cutting out about 4 1/2 5 grand but the tact gos to 6 or 7 what ever it is .Motor is still stock but should it be governed that low on the tact. AND #3 i have a noise comeing from up front by my feet not a gridding sound that cv joints makes . sounds like when you are driving a vehicle with bias tires. hope some on here can shed me some light

The first problem sounds like your 1/2nd syncronizers, pretty common problem for our trannies, to help the problem you can change your tranny fluid, but it won't solve the problem, I couldn't shift above 3k before without grinding after changing tranny fluid I can shift at about 5k now.

That 2nd gear problem is quite common. I agree completely on the fluid change, I'm running a blend of synthetic and slic 50 gear lube in mine and it has helped a lot. Someone else suggested a special GM gear oil, but I don't remember what thread it was or what it was called. On the cutting out problem, it isn't because of a governor, none of the DSM's have them. Something else is going on there. Mark |

As for the GM Stuff, that was me
I replaced my Transmission fluid with GM Syncromesh and its worked wonders for me so far, I've been running it for 4 or 5 months now with no complaints. My first post in this forum was about this problem
