91 vs 03

ok my friend has a 1991 mustang GT 5.0 (manuel) with intake headers and exaust. and he keeps saying that he will crush my 350z and that he can also crush the newer model GT's just because there 4.6L. just because he has a bigger engine he thinks he can beat anything with a smaller engine. 91' GT's came with 225 stock. my Z has 287 and the 4.6L GT's have 260. so please tell me this isnt true guys can he really beat me and the GT's.

Yeah but, the 5.0 has a HUGE low-end torque advantage over the 4.6. Horsepower, in my opinion, is an abused measurement. It doesn't mean that much.

If he's done an intake, hes probably got full exhaust and gears. That's a 13 second car. I've seen bone stock LX 5.0's with a tune and a timing tweek run 13.9's. 4.6 GT's will have a hell of a time getting 13's.

I've raced a couple of new 350 z's. Wasn't impressed. both times I let off halfway through 3rd because I was walking them so hard. No need to continue beating my car....

Either way, it's still largely up to the driver...

Yeah, stock vs stock vs stock he wouldnt beat either of you. But with his mods and you both being stock (if he could drive good) he would take both of you.

I'd just say race him. If you win you can make him eat the shit he's been talking. If you don't win throw a couple of boltons on your car and try again.
