AC/Heat/Defroster Switch???

Hey...
Have a '97 Astro when AC/Heat switch is turned on to AC the air comes out the defrost and heat vents...Same when switced to outside air...The AC is working, you can hear it kick in and the air is cold, just can't get air to come out of dash panel vents...Obviously I am not a mechanic, anyone out there know the most likely cause and/or fix???
Thanks!!!

Sounds like you have a vacume leak. Check for a small tube (3/16 dia) that is broken. You may be able to hear it. If you find it, you can get a 6 inch length of larger tube and slide the smaller tube ends into it. I must fit snug, of course.

Re: AC/Heat/Defroster Switch???

Thanks a lot!...Will check it out as soon as I am able...And yes I have been noticing an odd sounding noise from under the hood, it is hard to describe, an airy tinny sound!

Where did you find the leak????

Newbie on the forum, found though Google

Where did you find the vacumn hose that was leaking, just took the whole dash apart today could not hear or feel a leak, look under the hood and I cannot see a vacumn hose to save my life.

Appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks,

PV
