what should i dial in?

im go n to the track this weekend for the first time. my mods are listed below and i'll probably lower the tire pressure a bit to get more grip. I was thinking of dialing in a 15.4 to 15.5. sounds about right?

Since you've never ran, and have no idea what you're gonna run.

I'd dial in at 12.0 just to freak everyone out

then, after you find out what you really run, dial something .1-.2 lower to see if you can match it with good launching skill.

Re: what should i dial in?

a buddy of mine has an ls with i/h/e and on 17" rim's he ran 15.3 with like a 5k launch

his back seat's and everything in the back of the car are also gone, and no ps or ac.

take out some useless weight and dial in 15.4 you should hit it...

Re: what should i dial in?

That's why you should get there when the gates open, so you can run a few times for a good idea on what you're going to run. It just takes time and experience.

My last time out I got in 3 test runs before brackets started, and got 15.08, 15.06, and 15.10. I dialed in a 15.0 and ran a 14.9 which knocked me out.. so give yourself a few tenths of slack if it's your first time out.

you dont have to dial in anything, when you get to the track they let you run a few time trials to see what you can run in that weather

oh word? i didnt know that. well the gates open up at 9 am, so i'll probably try to make it a lil before that.

and SiGNAL748 they wont kick me off the track for running a 14.99 (which i dont think i will happen). i'll just be eliminated.

oh yeah, im a pretty small guy - my short ass is only 5'4" and i weight 125 lbs! (oki dont laugh. i have short parents!) so that should be in my advantage. i'll take out my spear and all the shit i have in my trunk.

my goal is to eventaully break into the 14 sec mark. im gonna need to do something to my motor (i.e. nitrous, LS/Vtec or turbo) to do that. it sucks having no money =/

Re: what should i dial in?

If all else fails, just chuck your spear at the other driver and maybe they'll freak out and miss a shift or something.
Sorry, i've had a little too much Nyquil, and not enough sleep.
