95 Gsx?

Just got a 95 GSX. What can I do to it without blowing the engine clutch or tranny? I here these mitsus (no offense maybe I am hereing from the wrong people) have a tendency to blow up a bit. Also if I want to make say 400whp can I do that with this motor. Should I do a swap, which swap. What will it take to get that 400? Oh lastly what kind of price on the 400? Thanks for your guys help, I just don't know mitsus well from my OWN expericence, I just know others.

Will I blow anything up though? Should I put in a racing clutch ext.?

Now just for future reference the reason I am doing this is that a buddy of mine and I have decided to see if the FWD or the AWD system is better just for the fun of it. I make quite a bit at sales positon so this is not a big deal to me or for him either. SO the deal was we both make 400whp and drop 500 pounds or so on the cars and take it to the track to see wich is better. We plan to drag it, circle track it, autocross it, and lastly rally both of them. Its summer now so this should not be a big deal for us. Our biggest concern is blowing up stuff because we both hear stuff about these cars blowing up all the time.

Thanks for your guys help BTW.

Re: 95 Gsx?

Stock clutch=stock horsepower rating
More Horsepower= Stronger Clutch

The reason they "Blow UP" is because unlike Honda's they create more horsepower and more horsepower can equal a more dangerous situation if you do not compensate properly. I mean 400 horsepower is easier to make in a GSX or GST than in a turbocharged civic but because of this people have a tendancy to overboost the GST or GSX or just run it hard.

Re: 95 Gsx?

I would have to disagree. They just don't "blow up". If you blow an engine, it's due to something like the following:
1. A mistake AND horsepower
2. horsepower/wear AND lots of passes
