Exclamation 1992 Dodge Caravan Help

Help!!! I have a 1992 Dodge Caravan with a little under 200k on it. Its been running fine since I bought it, mostly. But now im having a problem. I know what the problem is, but I don't know how to fix it so I thought I would ask somebody.

Ok here it is, I know its the Brake Booster. Reason being, theres no power brake assist when I press on the brakes. There is no abs or brake light that lights up on my dash. Im not sure exactly where the brake booster is located on the vehicle. So if anyone out there knows, has had, or even remotely knows what im talking about I would be greatful if they replied. You can either reply here or message me on MSN messenger. [email protected] is my addy. Also having problems with a 99 dodge ram 1500 automatic tranny. cant get it out of first gear. Im not real sure if its the transmission or if its just a sensor. anyway, any help in any way shape or form would be very helpful. Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this!!!

Re: 1992 Dodge Caravan Help

The brake booster is behind the master cylinder. You probably just lost vacuum to it, look for a broken hose, or disconnected?

on the ram:
I'm assuming it's automatic.
Disconnect your battery for 10 minutes, then reconnect. see if that clears it up. if not, look on the transmission, see if a plug has come loose.

Hope this helps you,

well ive looked at the vacuum. thats not it. it has a vacuum and everything. It just recently started working again, so im thinking its an electrical problem maybe. it comes and it goes, so i have to be really careful when ever i am stopping because it might just poof, go out on me and i'll hit what ever or who ever is in front of me. im really sure its electrical now because everytime it messes up, the batter charger meter on the dash will move all the way to the 18 (vertical). so, i think it might just be shot lol. it has 200,100 miles on it as of right this minute. so i think i got my moneys worth out of it lol, (bought it for 4 thousand with 100,000 miles.

Re: 1992 Dodge Caravan Help

Do you have ABS?

If so, then your problem could be electrical, but your ABS light should come on when the battery gauge soars to 18V.

200K is peanuts. My '93 was at 379K when I sold it (cheap) to a relative... They still drive it at 450K... it has had to have head gasket and two transmission service/overhaul (not rebuilds) but hey, I know I beat it to death! I used to drive an average of 60K a year, but not any more, I drive my old truck to the commuter lot and catch a bus now (lot isn't safe for my nicer cars/trucks!).
