Angry 2004 silverado door molding

I just bought a 2004 z-71 silverado ext cab 4x4 on all the door moldings there is a large bump has anyone else seen this on your moldings i was told it was a factory defect please respond with info.

Yes, I've noticed the same thing on mine. I was going to remove the mouldings but wasn't sure if something was actually beneath it. Is it really a manufacturing defect? Do you know if anything can be done about it? Please let me know. Thanks! Amy

Tell the dealer if its defective they will warranty it. IMHO the trucks look much better w/o the moldings exspecially the shortbeds.

Just got a new 04 2500HD Duramax and it has the same problem...actually there are what appears to be two small bumps in the exact same spot on both sides of the molding....so, since I had removed them off the truck I just totalled, I did the same on the new one. Btw, Dealer did state it was a manufacturing problem in the mold....free replacement if I wanted, but decided to just remove all together.
