1.8 drop or 1.2 drop?
Im debating to whether have a 1.8 drop done or a 1.2 drop done (basically whether to get the Eibach Sportlines or Eiback ProKit). Ive herd of people who lowered their cars to a 1.8 drop have problems driving the car. I know alot of you guys have the eiblach sportlines on and that it has approximately 1.8 drop. Was there any difference in steering or controlling the car after you lowered it? Was it negative or positive results? What kinda of Shocks/struts do u have on? Is there anything that can give u better steering or control of the car is any is lost after the drop?
Thanks! |

Re: 1.8 drop or 1.2 drop?
I would recommend the Pro Kit or look into H&R springs. Sportlines don't have a good ride IMO. Above 1.5" Koni, Tokico, KYB struts will all work fine. Under 1.5" I recommend using Koni yellows or Bilstein HD's. If upgrading springs & struts the handling(steering) will be a lot more responsive. Suspension is the best bang for the buck when it comes to upgrading a car. Positive results if done right with good parts.

Re: 1.8 drop or 1.2 drop?
Thanks for the quick response.. i just took a look at the H&R Sport Springs (it drops 1.75 in the fronts and 1.5 in the rear), so i should be fine with the KYB AGX struts right?
Also do i have to get all those items listed right away or can i get them slowly added on? im on a tight budget and can only afford the springs and struts first. What would u recommend and what do Sway bars, Strut braces and lower ties do? Thanks! |

Re: 1.8 drop or 1.2 drop?
I haven't heard or seen any problems with H&R sports & AGX's.
That's the order of priority for suspension. They can be added slowly. A rear sway bar upgrade will do the most when it comes to the bars. www.jegs.com for Suspension Technique adjustable rear sway. If you plan on some hard driving with good tires then a rear lower tie with the upgraded springs, struts, rear sway is a must. Sway bars are underneath the vehicle linking one side of the suspension to the other & tieing to the frame. They prevent body roll during cornering basically. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...9&goto=1287539 Strut braces are on the top side linking one strut mount to the other. They stiffen the chassis & prevent any flexing. If the bar has hinged ends it more for looks than function. Lower ties link one lower control arm to the other reducing flexing of the frame. |

Re: 1.8 drop or 1.2 drop?
yea i came across JEG's right before i checked back with this thread.. They got the ST Sway bars for a pretty decent price.
I think im going to go with the AGX struts and the H&R Sport Springs. Ive read some good combos with that on a couple of other forums and havent herd anyone complain about either one whether it was the same combo or with other struts and springs. Ill prolly ride without the sway bars at first.. if feel that i need it and it would benefit me a whole lot ill prolly get it too. As for the rest i would prolly be getting slowly. Anyways, youve been a big help! thanks alot!!
