2000 Silverado keyless entry

I have read several posts as to how to reprogram the keyless entry(will try them in the morning to see if the instructions work), but wondered if anyone knew if there were two remotes(one for each of the seat settings). Our car has two seat settings and came with two keyless entries, each labeled with a 1 or a 2 on the back that coincide with the 1 and 2 seat settings. The dealer is telling us there is only one. Any help would be appreciated.

The remotes that came with the truck from the factory do have a 1 and 2 on the back also you will notice the cluster display will say driver 1 or driver 2 when you unlock the vehicle with a remote and start it. How to program the mirrors, radio, and seat settings are in the owners manual. The dealer is telling you there is only one remote now because GM superceded the remote part number and now the replacement remotes do not come with the 1 or 2 on them.

Re: Re: 2000 Silverado keyless entry

So, just to clarify, you can program 2 remotes and it will recall the cooresponding seat/mirror/radio settings? We used the steps provided by someone else's post to program one, but there isn't anywhere in those steps that would allow it to know if it was being used for setting #1 or #2. Any more help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
I will be reading up in the manual more this evening, but wasn't so sure it was going to tell me just how to get the remotes reprogrammed. I understand all about all the other settings, that's the same for our 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI.
Thanks again.
