Transmission Oil Life Display On DIC

Does anybody know how to set the DIC to show the remainder of the
transmission oil life on a 2001 4.0?

I don't think I've heard of anybody who has less than 100% life left.
It's not supposed to need changing.

Re: Transmission Oil Life Display On DIC

Our tranny fliuid is not a closed loop system like on some GM cars, I have heard the DIC reads 100% tranny life until 50 000 miles then starts to drop like a stone (even if its been reset)....but I have never witnessed it first hand.

Either way, I know my car has had a tranny fluid change when my rad died at 140 000kms. Regardless when I do my 160 000km (100 000 mile) tune up, gonna do the tranny service.

I always played the 80 000km (50 000 mile) game, once there...just change it.

Mine still says 100% at 116K miles. I've never reset nor changed fluid. Whilst I'm quite certain I "should" have it changed and a new filter put in, it appears very clean upon visual inspection of the dip stick.

I own a '95 with around 106K miles on it. My DIC showed 100% until a day or two after sitting in stop and go traffic for an hour or so. Went to a Jiffy Lube the next day and had a "Power Flush" (100% fluid replacement...or so they say). I reset the DIC and all is well.

My 95 aurora is approaching 130000 miles and my trans fluid is still at 100 percent. I heard that changing the trans fluid after 100000 miles was acually bad for the car. Any thoughts?
