2003 Trailblazer EXT - Underbody damage - is it OK?
I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer EXT LT 2WD.
We were camping this weekend, and on the way out of the camp site I bottomed out on a boulder. It was dark, and I didn't see the drop off past the boulder. I was going slow and just idling out. It was like going over a speed bump, and the bottom of the truck hit the rock, just below the driver seat. When I got home I looked under the truck and I can see where the rock hit and bent a little metal. There is a flat metal bar that goes across the vehicle, at about the middle of the front doors. On the driver side, it is slightly bent and distorted. Instead of having a nice bow to it, it is more flat and dented up toward the truck. Is this going to be a problem? If I had pictures of the underside of the truck I could show you where it is slightly dented. I am assuming that GM designs these things to protect important parts, and they can take a little bit of abuse. If I need to replace it, how hard and expensive is it to replace? Thanks, Bryan |

Have to climb under the truck and see what exactly you are talking about....
