Trouble replacing front speakers in 2002 malibu.
I have instructions from Crutchfield on how to replace speakers.
My problem is the last step in the instructions. How do you pry out the door panels? More specifically, how do you pry them out without scratching up the metal trim around doors? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. jimbob338. |

Re: Trouble replacing front speakers in 2002 malibu.
Once I removed the trim piece around the mirror and removed the screws behind the door handle, and removed the window/doorlock controls and door opener trim, I removed the door panel. To do this, I used a piece of 1x4 wood. Use a wide flat blade to get your fingers underneath, and then slide in the piece of wood and then pry out that area's body clip. It will take quite a bit of force, probably around 40lbs, to pop the green body clip out of its mount. If I recall, there are two on the rear facing face of the door, three on the bottom and two on the front facing face of the door. After that, it comes right out.
