My Dad's 2000 MC with 18000 miles was flooded last weekend. The water was mid way of the windshield. I have removed the seats, carpet, instrument panel, door panels and misc soiled parts. I have drained the oil and trans fluid and Both had water in them. I flushed the crankcase with 1 gal of diesel fuel, drained completely and filled with fresh oil and trans fluid. I will change again after engine comes to operating temp.
There are some Problems I need help with... 1. The starter will not engage with the ignition. I can hook up a remote starter and turn over the engine and with the ignition on it will run for a few seconds. I think it may be the anti theft or maybe it dosn't think it is in park. Any suggestions? 2. I need to remove the Steering wheel and passenger airbags. Does anyone have instructions? 3. I don't think water got into the fuel because there was no dirt/mud in the filler neck. If I need to drain or purge the fuel tank does any one have procedures? 4. In reference to number one I also think the cat converter may be been stopped up. Any comments? I also need a complete interior, instrument panel, stereo, and misc parts If you have any of these parts, email me. [email protected] |

Re: 2000 Monte Carlo LS - Flooded
Didn't you have full coverage insurance on it?
