Inching up advice - 2003 Deville
Hey alll,
I bought a sharp black/ black Deville about a year ago, the wheels are definately not doing anything for the ride. I'd like to put some chromes on it, bigger than the ugly 16's on it now. I'm concerned about loss of acceleration from heavier wheels, loss of braking, wear on the tranny, etc. I'm really not into upgrading the brakes or suspension. So I guess what I'm asking is for anyone's experience with this. How big a wheel can I put on there without stressing the car too much? 18's? 19's? Thanks for the advice! |

Re: Inching up advice - 2003 Deville
You will have to reduce your tire size in relation to the oversize wheels. Look up a tire size chart and be sure to keep your total tire/rim diameter the same as before. This will affect ABS, engine, transmisson and handling.

Re: Inching up advice - 2003 Deville
I drive a 2003 stretch and the r/f tire rubbed thru the inner fenderwell and made a hole in the a/c hose behind it. Be sure to check clearance when you turn. There's not much room in there.
