Unhappy Evo VIII Intakes

Hey guys, I just put a K&N Typhoon intake on my 2003 Evo VIII and it runs like crap, I bet I have lost 15-20hp. I have checked and double checked the installation and have called the company, but I can't figure out what to do. I know that the air to fuel ratio is off now, but what do I do to fix that? Will a AFC fix that? Or do I need it tuned? And if so anyone know of a good tuning shop in the Southern Idaho, Northern Utah, or Northern Nevada area? Thanxs a ton guys. Evo_Lution

Re: Evo VIII Intakes

I installed an RMR intake on my EVO this past weekend and noticed a drop in power. Getting an AFC will correct the problem. The car is now running too lean so adjusting the air to fuel mixture will help. Also, on evolutionm.net there is a thread of several people with the same problem using the K&N Typhoon. It seems that the intake works to well. You may want to check it out.

Re: Evo VIII Intakes

Is this problem only with the K&N, or is it with other types of air filters?
