Re: my MPV cannot keep its coolant HELP!!!
Sorry but I doubt it is a thermostat I did not look back there, but almost certain it is a freeze plug… To make sure you could go to one of the parts stores that would lend you a cooling system pressure testing kit (in short a pump that would allow you to pressurize the cooling system), then by or again borrow from them that little handy mirror on the telescopic handle that would reach behind the block and see while pressurizing the system where it’s actually leaking from. To fix the leak from the freeze plug (although never done it myself, but heard it’s a possible approach) you can knock out the old plug and replace it with the new one with thermo/vibration resistant epoxy around it.

Re: my MPV cannot keep its coolant HELP!!!
Thanks for the reply
I followed nmikmik's advice and got a pressure testing kit (the pump) i'm writing the results of the whole thing if anybody has the same problem to see it With the help of a small mirror looked back there the problem was the gasket. I got a set of all the engine gasket took it appart and replaced evrything just to be sure. Now Its good as new I've ben driving it for two weeks now even gone on a 1000 mile road trip with not an indication of abnormal temperature. Again thanks a lot |

Re: my MPV cannot keep its coolant HELP!!!
Glad it worked for you! Just make sure you follow all instructions for replacement of the gasket, if it says to retighten it after a certain mileage, do it. This way you are guaranteed proper (hopefully long) performance of the product.
