1999 Tahoe...brake upgrade

yes, i know this is a very reoccurring theme...but...i've done some investigation into upgrades...and the results...well...less than sh*$!y...

the options:

1. change the rotors to slotted and cross-drilled (same stock size) and change pads...from all reports, this option provides little to no improvement...

2. spend 3k on a big front brake kit...along with spending 2k to 3k on new wheels and tires as well...because the upgrade have much larger calipers and rotors...

blaaaahhhhh.....anyone find anything better than these 2 options?

I switched the front pads on my '98 to Bendix SUV pads - huge improvement! Pads run around $50 but well worth it.

I used NAPA lifetime pads on my 1999 suburban with 30,000 miles and free replacement but the rotors wore out fast.
