corollas suck!

well i got my rental car for the week while they fix my scoob, a 2001 toyota corolla. if this isnt the worst handling car ive ever ridden in, i dont know what is. my buddys range rover will out corner it for christs sake! not to mention a complete lack of go! on the bright side i managed to outrun an integra 4 door automatic and an 88 prelude si tonight! (wow great kills huh?) and raced a camaro ss, then we pulled up next to him and i said "congratulations u just outran A COROLLA!"

hey, easy on the corollas yes, although a 2001 might be a piece of crap and the worst handling car ever, the 1987's were possibly the greatest handling car ever. Ah the good old ae86 trueno. nothing will beat it done a winding moutain road.

corollas dont suck

out of all cars made in the world the toyota corollas are one of the most long lasting cars ever made ,and as for racng how are you going t o race a four cylinder 1.6 vs. a 6 or 8 cylinder 2.8 or 3.0,it doesnt make sense to do that.for example take a 1980 corolla with a 3tc engine and do some slight modifications like making the car a four barrel carb and change the fywheel and clutch with a weaver sytem and a fuel mag you will be pushin 0-60 in 5 seconds or less (if you know how to race the right way)im a toyota fan the only car that toyota has that is a piece of crap is the prius ,but beside s that the toyota are the top liner cars.i have a supra that has a greddy muffler system ,a t-88 turbo with intercooler ,fluidine radiator, short cam gears,je pistons, titanium valve springs, billet connecting rods, port and polish, all upgrades on drive train, sparco torino seat with a five point harness, bomex body kit ,brombo brake system set of wheels from hr,both of my cars will take out your piece of crap subaru and the piece of crap camaro .

Im an unfortunate owner of a toyota camry wich im gonna sell soon, and im reconsidering buying a toyota because the amount of body roll on this car is amazing, it leans around corners at 20kmh (~15mph)
that ontop of the poor powersteering just makes it a peice of shit for AU$5000 (my dad bought me it).
my friend crashed the peice of shit afew weeks ago, the accedent wouldnt of happened if the car wouldnt lean around corners and bends.

im really wondering wtf is the point of a car having body roll.

luisangel166 whoa easy there. ldelaysionl wasn't bashing toyota. he was even givin props to the old AE86's. i mean if the new corolla is that bad of a car, then let it be. no manufacture makes every car nice. its just not possible. i tend to consider the matrix as the new corolla no the corolla. and i've driven the less recent corolla's (95) and that thing had absolutely no power~! but then again, its only a corolla. i shouldn't expect much from it.

My friend had one back in 97 , he took it out of the dealership , and after driving it around , the next day he went to performance parts shop and ordered a full sport suspension package... Althought the 1.4 engine hasn't got much pulling power , but it still was too much for that suspension... Then he sold it and got a supra and now he is ... :bandit:

I think they might be thinking the same thing, anyone seen the add for the new Corolla S? I don't know any specs or if there will be a rear drive version or anyhting, but hey, it's got potential

On another note, there's a mint condition 86 or 87 GTS parked at a house out by the mall near my house. Me and my cousin saw it when we were searching for a friends apartment and it's just been sitting there, I've only seen it move once in like 3 months. I'm thinking of getting like $2000 together and jsut knocking on the guys door and offering him it cause he doesn't seem to drive it very much. Then i could have some real fun 1.6L 16 valve DOHC at like 1900lbs worth of fun

You can't say a car sucks just because it wasn't designed for racing. I drive a used '99 Corolla VE and considering my income I'm proud of what I got.

I didn't find any major handling problems with my car (maybe because I'm to used to it). One time I had a camaro tailing-gating me and I was about to enter an tight S-curve slick with black ice. I entered the curve at 110kph, used LFB, and (with all four wheels sliding) just sailed through that S-curve exiting at 100kph. The camaro driver would have to be a master at the Scandinavian Flick in order to keep up with me in the turns.

In roads with a lot of curves horsepower isn't the main factor. I'm confident enough to say RWDs cannot beat me in curves without heel-and-toeing (rare skill), but of course I wouldn't waste time with outclassing cars especially AWDs.

Good drivers make the best of a bad car.

whoa easy there turbo... like tatII said i wasnt bashing toyotas, toyota is one of my favorite manufacturers and makes more of my favorite cars than anyone else... but the truth is the 2001 corolla i had was a slow piece of shit that cornered like crap. maybe it was just that particular car, who knows. u said both of your cars so im assuming your other car is a 80 corolla right? well as a matter of fact i like 80 corollas but please dont talk about your modified car smoking my stock subaru cuz if they were both stock i would hand u your ass. with enough mods anything can beat anything else, but from the factory my car is superior to an 80 corolla in pretty much every way... and if your doing 0-60 in 5-6 seconds i bet i could give u a good run anyways.

oh and does it make u feel good that your supra with all that crap in it can beat my stock subaru station wagon? if my car had all that stuff i almost guarantee it would outrun your supra anyway.
