looking to buy some motegi 16x7 MR7's. anyone else got this rim, or had experience with the brand that can give me a review of the overall product? they seem almost too inexpensive

Re: motegi's

they're solid rims, i've got the 17x7's and they have held up well since i got em, they're a little on the heavy side but they give a look that i really like to my car.. it just needs to be lowered *see pic in sig* how much u gettin em for?

Re: motegi's

don't be so sure. My friend had 17" MR7's, I believe they weighed in at about 25lbs a rim.

Re: motegi's

yeah they're heavier than the stockers... they're freaking beasts compared to something like Rota.. but they look nice so it's your decision.. and for that price i'd go for it, then sell em fer more

hmm I thought that price was a little high actually? I paid 750 for my 17x7 motegi MRM rims with tires. just search forever and you will find something. A good place to look is on ebay, just look at the auctions and find the websites of the sellers, usually their prices are exactly the same as their auctions, without the hassle of ebay.

Agreed. The stock pressed steel wheels that come on ALL Civics except for the Si weigh in somewhere between 18 and 21 pounds. Those Motegis weigh in around the 25lbs. mark. Also keep in mind any tire for those "17's will weigh more than the stock "14 tires as well.

Re: motegi's

its a prelude si, not a civic...im not sure how much my stock rims weigh...

im new to this rim thing (i was gonna just keep the stock rims, but i decided i needed 16's.)

id like to stay within the stock weight (give or take a lb, because i cant afford really good tires, and if they are too lite, ill just spin wheels) and under 600 for the set (tires dont matter, just rims)

can you recommend anything (preferably simple 7 or 5 spoke)

Rota wheels. Within your range of price, and most of their wheels are pretty light weight.

Re: motegi's

wrong.. everyone has mr-7 knockoffs, motegi's are the real deal, everyone just copied their design... eg katana.. kr-7? i think

Re: motegi's

Simple and light, I'd definately look into the rotas. Check out the slipstream (spoon knockoff), circut 8s, Subzero (racing hart knockoffs), etc. Very nice wheels, and good looking too.
