Re: Is it good to take the car out on a hot day?

the engine is way hotter than the tempature outside ever is so I don't see what the problem would be, unless somehow you have a worse than stock cooling system, which would be dumb anytime...

It warms up a hell of a lot faster, why not take it out?

Re: Is it good to take the car out on a hot day?

Wow, you are all dumb. It isnt good to get on a rotary when it is a hot day. This concept works the same as why it is better to drive on cool days. Rotarys run much hotter, so dont race when it is hot.

Re: Is it good to take the car out on a hot day?

I sat in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour yesterday and it was like 80 out. My car didn't overheat. And yes you can get on it if it's hot out.

Here in Canada it can still get real warm and muggy out. I think that driving when its hot will not break down your car, but it does work the car harder to keep it at its perfect temperature (especially when a/c drains the power)... I think the heat also puts more ware on your tires when it does get too hot and dry

Re: Is it good to take the car out on a hot day?

The temperature inside your engine when running is hotter than it is outside, whatever air you bring in will be cooler than what the temp already is, if it is cold it just cools more, hot and it cools less. What feels hot to us is not hot to our engines. Even on a cold day, after bringing the car in the garage I could fry an egg on the motor, it is at a temperature many times higher than the hot air is on a hot day, so then the hot air is cooler than the motor. Granted it wont cool the motor down much, it definately wont heat it up, may allow you to get the motor to make a temperature that is hotter than normal, but doubtfully significantly hotter.

PS: never trust someone who puts "trust me" at the end of most of his posts it is almost always a sure sign you are dealing with a fuckwit.

PPS: This kid has someone do all the work on his cars as stated earlier, why is it that he thinks he is an expert.

PPPS: I'm not an expert either don't listen to me, Dayna or J-Rat will have the answer.

Re: Is it good to take the car out on a hot day?

man in Kansas it get up to a 100 just like Texas(and yes I know, I lived in Texas for 6 years before I moved to Kansas) and I get on mine on hot days all the time, then afterwards I can even cruise with the ac on and have no problems... "trust me"
