Legacy 2000 GT Dash Backlight

Is there anyway to remove the OEM green light and either put blue/red/white light instead?

I've been thinking on getting a guage cluster from a wrecked legacy and trying this to see if it can be done on the legacies. I've been told that some manufactures actually solder the lights into the cluster and they're a pain to replace. I don't want to risk breaking my stuff it there's no need to either.
