Re: 4wd sedan??

They did make a 4wd wagon here in the states. But not the sedan. I've heard that the transfer cases were very weak so there was no point in using them for perfomance purposes.

yeah i know about the wagon, and the weak transfer cases. it would still be cool to have one, and there has to be a way to make the transfer cases stronger, or some kind of replacement that would work out of a diffrent car. to bad that page is in germen ... thats interesting.
has anyone in here done a 4wd sedan/crx/hatch or know someone that has? that would be a sweet little car.

Re: 4wd sedan??

well you can do anything if you have the money to do it.

theres is a 4wd white iontegra in florida that was all over the magizines, then the guy swapp it to a rwd for drifting...

take the entire 4wd crv setup and drop it into a civic 4 dr sedan. thats the setup they used on the teg.. giving the fact you swap certain stock parts of others based on what kind of performance your looking for.

Re: 4wd sedan??

Thats a mod I'm looking to do on my sedan in the future. Not so much for high performance, but being able to get around in Pennsylvania winters. Civic is generally good in the snow, but almost impossible to start on a hill. Driving a motorcycle in the snow isn't my idea of fun. :P

There's a 4wd crx around here, pretty cool. The guy used some crv, wagon and custom parts to make it.

Edit: see the article in french posted before

Re: 4wd sedan??

There's one at the wreckers up the road from me - it's a 120ps SOHC ZC that they cant get registered as too many shortcuts were made in registering it.

Re: 4wd sedan??

It is fulltime AWD in the one at the wreckers - and also the one at the Sydney motor show in '89.

'nuff said

Re: 4wd sedan??

Yep - we only got the wagon here too - the sedans are private imports.
