even more problems

well my car is giving me even more problems it seems lately that when i try to start my car it just wont turn on like it wants to start it turns over and everything but doesn't go, i thought nit was b/c my air filters dirty and wasn't gettin enough air but i just tried taking it off and starting it and no luck what are different scenario's that could cause this problem?

Re: even more problems

try changin the battery? new fuel filter? new oil filter? your air filter isnt gonna do that unless you have somethin really stuck in there.

Re: even more problems

This could be a very wide range of problems..
First like Sykotic mentioned.. COndition of the battery? check it cold and hot.. An induction service or fuel injection/system cleaning usually helps quite a bit.. Change your fuel filter..
Does it start better when the engine is hot? or cold? Could be a leak in the fuel system, like a faulty FP regulator.. If the fuel system is all good, check the ignition system.. A weak coil? Bad wires or plugs? cap and rotor?

Re: even more problems

Its pretty much either fuel or ignition. Pull each plug individually to check if your getting spark in all cylinders. Just dont zap yourself :P

Re: even more problems

I have a similar problem.. car starts fine when hot (most of the time) on first key turn. when cold, first key turn will end in a slow start then die, second key turn will start with no problem, except very short (single) burst of smoke from exhaust. I suspect fuel delivery issues. It seems that the car doesn't maintain fuel pressure when turned off. I have replaced the gas tank cap already. wires, plugs, ign module, rotor, cap, coil are all new from other starting problem (that got fixed). Will fuel system job help me? What else do you think I should do?
