dumb mistake

alright... laugh now, get it out of your system. Heres the story... got in my car today and started to crank it... no dice. Acted like a dead batt... so i had a dude jump me off... well when i went to turn the lights on it died. went to jump it again and i put the cables on backwards... ZAP! the cable started to spark... i reconected it in them the right way and got it started and then let it run... Now the seat belt and door lights, and the clock flickers. the beeper is also much quiter... im guessing i screwed up the interior CPU... if anyone has any other ideas please let me know. And if it is the CPU then does anyone have one for sale and are S4 and S5 interchangeable? Thanks

replaced a few fuses that blew and some that just looked old and GUESS WHAT... no more flickering... i have narrowed the problems down to the batt. and alternator. I planed on doing a rear mount battery but just not this soon so o well. If its the alternator ill put an FD alternator on there (1300cc.com has the how too on that one) and mabey get it remanufactured to higher output (or buy it like that in the first place if they have one). But Ill do the battery first. First off does anyone know of a good battery box... I dont need the kit because ive got the hook up on wiring so i just need a battery box. I dont feel like paying $200 for one but i want a metal one. Also does anyone know where to get the optima red top batteries at? Well thanks for your concern so far and thanks for any help you can give me. Rotor on!

Re: dumb mistake

Hi,
I thought I was the only guy who did that. I`ve also did a similar thing and messed up the whole electrical system. The CD player does not work, the memory of the radio is gone (i need to set everytime i restart the car), when I open the door the radio shuts down, and many weird things. Not too major things, but still makes you mad. I was thinking of changing the CPU. ANy suggestions?
Thanks

Check all the fuses before you change anything, then if it still doesn't work pull the radio and check to see if you still have constant power to the radio on one wire (forget what wire it is but you should notice it if you hooked the radio up yourself).
