Skunk2 Intake Manifold

I have a 93 Civic Hatchback with a JDM OBDI Acura Integra GSR motor swap. I just installed a Skunk2 intake manifold. I checked all the hoses and lines and they all seem to be in the right place. When I cranked up the car, the check engine light came on and the car now idles at 2200 RPM. Did anyone have this problem or know what the problem is? How do you check in the error code? Any help will be appreciated.

Man you have been a member here for 1 yr and you are just now posting for the first time? LOL.

It sounds like it could be your IACV or TPS to me. Check under the dash on the passenger side for a small rubber connector with 1 or 2 connectors inside it. There will be on connector with just 2 wires this is the connector that you short out to get the cods from the ecu. Take a paper clip or anything you can find and make contact netween the two wires, then turn the ignition switch on and read the blinks.

I never had a car related problem before.

I got the idle down to normal but the check engine light is still on. Once I installed the new intake manifold, the IAB is now not in use and the connector to it is not plugged to anything. I'm wondering if that is the reason why the check engine light is on. The instructions also tell me to connect the EVAP purge solenoid, but my car doesn't seem to have it. I tried jumping the connector, but the check engine light didn't blink the codes.

well if ur CEL is on, u should be able to check the error code by jump n the conncetor located above the passenger side kick panel. maybe u didnt do it right. what did u use to jump the connector? try using a wire.

another solution:
oki, maybe u did fix the problem. try reseting your ECU. go in the fuse box under the hood and pull out the 7.5 AMP backup fuse. this resets ur ECU. drive the car around a bit and check to see if the CEL will come on.

I figured out what the problem was. A wire located near the distributor came off and I just solder it back on. I had an exhaust leak where the collector and the cat meets, but I went to get that fix today. Now the engine idles kinda high. Then I reset the ECU and now the engine idles up and down at the beginning from 1500 back down to 1200. It does it for a while until the engine warms up really good. Thanks for all the help guys.

Re: Skunk2 Intake Manifold

I got the idle down to normal now, but there is a new problem that arises. The last time I took my car to the track I made a few runs and next thing you know, the car would idle really high like someone was holding down the gas. After the car cooled down for a while, it would go back to normal. Today, I was running the car like I was running it on the track and after 2 runs, it would idle high again close to 5,000. Does anyone have a clue why it is doing this?

maybe your Idle Air Control Valve IACV is bad. try change n it. also check all your throttle cables to make sure that there not binding anywhere
