Re: Headers 2

the last owner is an idiot and he put the wrong ones on so he bent the tubing so the shift linkage wouldnt hit the headers...well it did and it rattled like a mother.

Re: Headers 2

3 inch tubing? humm, seeing as how the distance between the bolts on the outside two tubes on each head is only 1 and 7/8inches on your heads, 3 inches would be alot to dimple it in. and the answer to your question is no. it would probably only kill perfromance anyway. the bigest you should go is 1 and 5/8.

Re: Headers 2

ok well my question to you is, do you know what headers do? do you know what happens when you use bigger tubes? for small blocks 1 5/8 is about the biggest. for big blocks i think its about 2 1/4, but im not totaly sure on that one. you can get bigger but they are usualy for drag only, or if your turning like 6 grand and up. when you make the tubes bigger it usualy makes your torque curve move up in the RPM range some. also, you need back presure. your ports are probably only like 1 1/4 - 1 3/8. with 2 1/4, an extra 1 inch of tube diameter isnt going to do you any good. plus like i said for bolt hole to bolt hole its only like 1 7/8. but they do sell adapter plates to run big tube headers that bolt up more like a big block header bolt pattern.
