rear clunking noise after disengaging from 4 wheel low
launched my boat at a ramp in 4 wheel low, after disengaging the 4 wheel low back to 4 high there is a loud clunking noise in my right rear wheel when driving more so when turning. Tried driving backwards for 30 feet then engaging the 4 wheel low again and again going in reverse for 30 feet and disengaging again the clunk still exists.

Re: rear clunking noise after disengaging from 4 wheel low
Spider or side gear broken in rear diff? Just a quick guess.
Pull front driveline, drive rig. Pull rear drive line, put in front drive line, drive rig. Be sure to narrow it down. Front noise or transfer case noise can travel throughout. |
