my girlfriends car (2000 tiburon 2.0L automatic) keeps blowing the ecu fuse in the engine compartment. all i have done to it is 4-2-1 headers full pipes w/o cats, and a cold air intake, strut tower brace front and rear. all of these mods were done 12/03 and the fuse starterd blowing on thursday. what the F**K!!
any help greatly apreciated.

I assume by nisco's post that you MUST have a catback system in order to have a CAI? I was looking forward to getting a CAI, but now I have to wait and save more for a cat, too?

nah you dont need a catback system to get a CAI. he's saying without the catalytic converter it would fuck with the ecu readings. so good news to you, go ahead and get the CAI.

ecu fuse ? i do not see on in the wiring diagram there is a balarm fuse that feeds the ecu tcu and audio system . can u be more specific .

if we are on the same page i would go after the audi leg of the cuircuit just a guess but you probably threw out the stock radi mabye you have a wire touching ground in the aftermarket wiring to the radio . write me with more info are you still under 60 k you dealer might b able to help .

I had a problem with my 03 Tiburon about a year ago. I am not sure if it is the same fuse but one of mine kept blowing also.

As it turns out it was the alternator. It seemed to happen soon after the key light ring went out witch was about 5 months after my CAI was installed.

Not sure about the 2000 model but I would have the Alternator checked. Since my alternator has been replaced I have not had any problems.

did you have to extend the o2 sensors to get them in the bungs on the header?

if you did, you might wanna check the solder jobs and electric tape jobs. touching wires will blow the ecu fuse.
