Re: 2001 Eclipse GT Mods

no chips for this car. I suggest a B&M short shifter, AEM or Injen intake (stay away from the no-name Ebay crap, it is $30 for a reason, p.o.s.), and cat-back exhaust.

Re: 2001 Eclipse GT Mods

Road///Race Engineering makes a rear strut tower bar for the 3G which is very affordable at $70. And Suspension Techniques make a rear sway bar as does RMDSM. Get the rear, not the front. If you get the front, your turning ability will be decreased.

Re: 2001 Eclipse GT Mods

It stiffens up your car to allow for less body flex. Less body flex = better turning ability.

new mods yet?

Hey...I'm kinda new to this forum so I'll tell you a little about my car. I just recently purchased a 2001 mitsu eclipse gt. The mods are : full body kit, greddy exhaust, 18" adr rims, aem CAI and big brake kit in the front, autometer gauge pod with air-fuel and volts guages, momo shift knob(yeah I know it's lame to list a shift knob but what the hell : ) ), and clarion head unit. I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about anything new for this car. I heard that nobody's got a header or plug wires or nething like that for it yet but I was gonna run it by you guys to see if that was true. Basically I'm just looking for a few more power gains to help me out. -thanks

Re: 2001 Eclipse GT Mods

Well, that's not true. I sell Nology plug wires for the car, and RippMods and HyTech make headers for the car.

If you want the best system, I would say get the HyTech headers. They will gain you 30whp over stock. Dyno tested and proven. If you get headers, you must get an SAFC/SAFR and do an hour or so of dyno tuning to extract amximum gains from the system.

headers

hey thanks for the response so soon. So about the dyno testing. I live in Miami Ok. and I know for a fact that there aren't ne dyno places around here. (well at least not in lke an hour drive of here) I put the header on my integra but never put one on a v6. Is that going to be a lot harder install? Plus isn't dyno testing pretty expensive? -thanks

Re: 2001 Eclipse GT Mods

Dyno tuning varies from place to place. You can expect to spend over $100, but most likely less than $200.

It will be much harder to install, as the engine bay is much tighter.

I think that should be all of them. A quick search on Google and Yahoo came up with those. Not sure if all those numbers are still active, but there are plenty to try.

Re: 2001 Eclipse GT Mods

i've heard alot about dyno tuning but never had a car where it could actually be "tuned in". does it involve reprogramming values on the ecu or what exactly is done? also, i'm out on the border of pa/oh. any where close to where i'm at for reference? thanks
