Aftermarket Rims

I am interested in buying a 1979 Cadillac Coupe DeVille but I am having trouble with the safety, actually a problem with taking the rims off the car to get it safetied. It seems the original owner (who unfortunately passed on) had put after market hub caps on this car that require a key to get them off.

The current owners seem to have lost the key. So I need to try and track it down. These are interesting rims because I can’t find anyone who sells these rims. I have taken some pictures that you can view at http://www.i-lan.ca/car to see what they look like.

Any assistance in tracking down the creators of these hubs or maybe even someone who has a key to it would be much appreciated. Anyone have any ideas where I can start to look I would also be very thankful for.

Re: Aftermarket Rims

Might want to check out some junk yards and search the cars. I didnt know I needed one untill I found the key in a side pocket. They arnt after market, they are stock I have the same things. If you cant find a key at a junk yard go see if you can get one at the dealer. If they dont sell them take it to the same dealer for a tire rotation or something to do with the tire rotating. Tell them to leave the hub caps off. If you need them off that bad you could do that.

Also you could take a pair of needle nose plyers and squeeze it and turn it. That could also work but it might take some time and streanth.
