Talking June 5th SoCalZ/AF meet.

Ok, lastnight was totally awesome.

AF folks who showed, Jay@AF... which totally suprised me. He's actually a really cool guy. His Subaru is really nice too. Jay, how the hell did you know that I was... Me? hahah

My good buddy Fatninja19 brought the M3 out to play. Always enjoy seeing the Bavarion motorworks at it's finest.

Then all my Z buddies, and their friends showed up. In total 31 cars showed.

All these images were taken by my buddy Cliff. Who drives a 300zx 2+2 with TT conversion. Very Sick. I'll have to dig out the picture I took of the S13 with the Silvia conversion powered by the RB. Very sick car...

Jag with 280ZX Turbo motor, random I know.

Evo III right hand drive.

Evo VIII with JDM Taillights

Cliff's 300zx 2+2TT with his buddies Turbo Civic, which is fast as all hell.

Random pics after the Canyon run.

I guess the highlight of the night for me, the canyon run. Santiago Canyon isn't that hard, infact it's very easy. But we were out for just a cruise not to kill ourselves. I was leading the charge into the canyon, slowest car leading... I still kept a good pace I feel. On the 'uphill' I kept getting stuck behind slower traffic and since I've got no power I had to wait for them to pull off. The guy in the Jag said at the end of the run I was too slow...

So... not to be told I'm slow... I took the lead on the 'downhill'. After the 19 mile trek back down the canyon roads. I put a good mile of distance between me and that Jag... doing 95-100mph in the pitch black. T'was fun as hell.

My buddy TJ in his 300zxTT was following me for the first part of the 'downhill' and said when I would heel-toe for the turns my car would do it's normal 'raptaptaptap...' then it'd load up and 'BOOMFFPH!' and shoot a fireball. Gotta love carbs dumpin raw fuel.

I'd say it was great success having all sorts of people show up. Everybody was in good spirits, just out to have a good time.

Yeah, my buddy Joe did all the filming. There's some good footage. It'll be a bit before he can edit it all down to a good size movie.

When he gets it all compiled and uploads it. I'll be sure to link it to you folks.

Re: June 5th SoCalZ/AF meet.

Sounded like fun. Too bad my P.O.S. stock clutch can't hold fucking shit. My car is still in the shop, as the mechanic accidentally broke the transmission seal. I might just start killing mitsubishi's service dept. officials if they ordered the wrong part. If I don't make it this next time i'll be comtemplating selling this car since it seems cursed.

You've got untill next month to get her all squared away. So no worries man. I was hoping you'd show up, but I knew why you couldn't.

Re: June 5th SoCalZ/AF meet.

Yeah, thanks for a good time, fellas.

It was good to meet you guys. I was impressed by the turnout! Hopefully you can keep this going for a while...

I snapped a few pics:

S13 Silvia conversion w/ RB20DET (I didn't get a pic w/ the hood up, sorry...)

Jag w/ Datsun motor:

I'd never driven Santiago Canyon before, and while I agree that the road itself is not very hard to drive, the visibility there, especially at night, is like ZERO. Each "straight" (at least, where you can see ahead at all) stretch is a quarter mile long, tops, and the tree canopy is DENSE not only to the sides, but above as well.

Good times!

yesss!!! IT was cool!! My friend and I had lots of fun!

Thanks to Jay for waiting up for me because I'm a slow ass(on several different occasions that night).

And yesss, I think one of the coolest parts of the canyon run was through the place with a dense population of tree's on both sides of the road... Most definitely made me feel like I was tearing it up in a rally race!!
