p0171 Feul lean system - Car Stals

Driving down the highway the car will sputter and then stal. Trying to start it will work but the motor will run erraticlly , sputter and will not pull once in gear. After leaving the car for an hour without trying to start it , it will start fine and run fine? ??? this happened three times in past 3 months. The code is allways P0171 - Feul system Lean..
What should I do? What should I repair...thanks

I found this posting on another page and thought it might help

I can confirm that its the fule pump ! On my '96 caravan with 92k on it, I dropped the tank and got one from NAPPAs for $176. Installed it, and the symptoms described (above) no longer exist. After 90k expect the fule pump to go out on caravans. Especially if you are getting P0171 = low fuel pressure - bank 1, when you do a code reading.

I am recieving the same code and have been trying to figure it out. I am going to try this. My fuel PSI was 30psi and suppose to be 49psi.
