hmmm

you can put a larger cam than a 14 in a sohc...i am putting the #5 in mine..considered the nasty cam..now you have to take some things into consideration when you do this though...the #5 has .400 lift on both intake and exhaust..one with such a lift must have durable valve springs.. you have to run the crane valve springs as well as get lash caps in order for the cams lobe to fully and properly contact the rocker arm. also you have to take static compression into account. the more agressive you get with cams the more compression you need. so you will have to get higher compression pistons and possibly deck the head some in order to raise the compression to a usable level.

that is the link to a dealer that sells the cam...there are also two other cams that are considered more agressive than the 14 that howell sells.. each cam has an ideal purpose set for it. this is where i purchased mine at. i have heard of another cam that is even more insaine than the #5 but ive also heard that youd want to be able to rev somewhere in the range of 9000 rpms...
