Fun with a Johan Rambler wagon...a one week wonder!!! *PICS*

I started this one Wednesday evening. Here's where I'm at tonight:

Paint is HOK Violette Pearl with HOK Limetime Pearl on the sides. Rims are Hoppin Hydro's Monster 24 Toras. The windows, not seen in these pictures, have been blacked out with Tamiya Matt Black. It will be a slammer.

It will probably take me 2 or 3 evenings to apply BMF to all of the chrome around the glass and the side mouldings that surround the Lime Pearl paint on the sides. I'll be entering it in the Slammer Class at next weekend's Heartland Nationals model contest in Kansas City.

Enjoy!!! Marc

Amazing how many folks get a kick out of building that Rambler kit when so many folks back when the car was built wouldn't be caught dead driving one.

Your's looks stellar. Certainly one radical looking example of an underrated classic.

Great work so far. Love the paint scheme
This is an awesome kit, it's so easy to modify and have fun with. I had a blast building mine.

Remember this one??? After I screwed up the first paint job , I put the Rambler on the back burner. I stripped the paint with Polly S Easy Lift Off and filled in some sink marks that I left the first time around. I was trying to build this one in one week for a contest.

Paint is the same House of Kolor Violette Pearl with HOK Limetime Pearl in the side spears. Clear is Matrix Urethane Clear. A buddy in the local model club came over this afternoon to teach me how to shoot urethane.

It still needs some polishing to remove some nits in the paint but look at that shine!!! Nothing shines like urethane clear!!!

Later this week, I'll get it polished and apply some BMF to all the chrome trim.

Marc
