stock intake question

My friend with his pussy honda (hehe) took a restrictor plate out from under his stock intake. now when he puts on the gas his motor has a real nice, deep sound coming from under the hood. I was wondering if this was just a little "free mod" or wether it might eventually screw something up, like the mass airflow sensor or something. any advice is welcome Thanks.

Re: stock intake question

Most cars do have intake "silencers," so if thats indeed all it was, no harm done. 1G cars have these for us DSMers, but 2Gs dont. One of the 1g "free mods" is removing that silencer.
